SAEs

SAE stands for supervised agricultural experience programs. They are a requirement for every student enrolled in agriculture, food, and natural resource classes. SAEs extend far beyond the traditional livestock projects, and now include on-the-job experiences, research into a student's particular point of interest, and can even lead to participation in the state agriscience fair.

Exploratory - take a look at the agricultural industry and its related careers.

Research and Experimentation - use the scientific process to conduct research

Placement - working in a paid or non-paid position related to a facet of agriculture

Entrepreneurship - you become a business owner in this SAE (livestock projects fall into this category)

Talk to your ag teacher today about your ideas!
